Turn a percentage-off offer into the price you will actually pay and the amount you save.
The discount is taken from the original price. Taxes, delivery, and additional promotions are excluded.
Price after discount
$80.00
You save $20.00 with a 20% discount.
Check the seller's terms for exclusions, stacking rules, taxes, and rounding differences.
Plain-language method
Take the discount away from the original price.
The discount amount is the original price multiplied by the discount rate. Subtract that saving from the original price to get the price after discount.
For several consecutive discounts, calculate them one at a time. Two 10% discounts do not equal one 20% discount because the second applies to the already reduced price.
